Vanja Grbic shares ABC of Beach Volleyball with future champions
2013 CEV Beach Volleyball European Championship - Novi Sad Masters
Novi Sad, Serbia, July 18, 2013. The venue of the 2013 Novi Sad Masters, Strand Beach, is also playing host these days to the third edition of the Vip Beach Masters Volleyball School that is open to young children up to 14 years of age. The kids are getting to know the ABC of Beach Volleyball under the guidance of 2000 Olympic champion Vladimir Grbic, who is currently the Vice-President of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia and a member of the FIVB Development Commission. The main goal of this action is to increase the popularity of the sport in Serbia, not to forget the promotion of fair play and a healthy lifestyle among the young generations.
“The kids are just great and I am very happy that we can spend some time together learning new things on the great courts set up here at Strand beach. Novi Sad has always been the center of the Serbian Volleyball family, so I’m not surprised by the amount of talent that just emanates from these children. They need support and guidance to unleash their potential, and I am very happy to be able to provide them with one of the first steps in achieving this goal” Grbic says. It is really impressive to see the children so fascinated by Vanja and how they are eager to learn from him. He is a real old school role-model for the youngest and for sure this clinic is a great chance for the kids to discover and further develop their potential.
More than 3,000 future champions so far had the opportunity to spend some time with one of Serbia’s greatest Volleyball legends, and after the Novi Sad Masters comes to a close, the action will continue its tour in Serbia in conjunction with the Vip Beach Masters 2013, Serbia’s national championship.
