Teams work on their fine tuning; officials spend their rest day in Bar’s old town
2013 CEV Youth Volleyball European Championship - Girls

Bar, Montenegro, April 5, 2013. After successful conclusion of Pool play in Kladovo (Serbia) and Bar (Montenegro), the teams of the 2013 CEV Youth Volleyball European Championship – Girls took advantage of the rest day for their fine tuning on the court. The eight team delegations, CEV officials and international referees – on the other hand – attended a special program worked out in cooperation with the national organizing committee.

The team delegations, CEV officials and international referees enjoined their trip to Bar’s old town where they were shown the most important cultural and historical monuments of the region as well as breathtaking panorama before jumping back into the competition starting from Saturday morning. The ruins of Bar’s old town constitute one of the world’s largest fortified archaeological sites.

Jury President and CEV Vice President Jan Hronek delivered a positive summary of the first part of the 2013 CEV Youth Volleyball European Championship – Girls. “The organization committees in Kladovo and Bar made a great job. I would like to thank the Serbian and Montenegrin Volleyball Federation for their relentless efforts and exemplary support. I’m looking forward to enjoying excellent finals.”

The 2013 CEV Youth Volleyball European Championship – Girls will resume on Saturday morning with the much-awaited 5-8 semifinals which will determine the six teams representing Europe at this year’s FIVB Girls' Youth World Championship coming up later this summer in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand. The semifinals 1-4 are scheduled for 15:00 (local time) and 18:00 (local time) when 2011 runner-up Italy will face Serbia and Poland will challenge titleholder Turkey.

Semifinals 5-8:

10:30 Greece vs. Russia
13:00 Germany vs. Slovenia

Semifinals 1-4:

15:30 Italy vs. Serbia
18:00 Turkey vs. Poland
