Elite Beach Volleyball in Baden with double gender Masters in late May
2013 CEV Beach Volleyball European Championship - Baden Masters

Baden, Austria, March 25, 2013. Elite Beach Volleyball will return this year once more to Baden where a double gender CEV Masters – first stop of the 2013 CEV Beach Volleyball European Championship – will take place through May 29-June 2 at Strandbad. Last year the men’s tournament was “only” a Satellite, so this time the local promoter VISION05 was able to upgrade the competition to be hosted there in the outskirts of Vienna by making it a double gender Masters, with 25,000 € at stake in the women’s as well as in the men’s event.
The tournament is set to run through five days and shall turn into a great party for all Beach Volleyball fans. Baden has gradually established itself as a real “Mecca” for the sport and the tournament is well-known for its great atmosphere and professional organization that attract every year some of the very best Beach Volleyball duos in Europe.

Austria’s top teams will square off vying for some more glory after last year Clemens Doppler and Alexander Horst did top the final standings while Xandi Huber/Robin Seidl settled for third place. In the women’s tournament Stefanie and Doris Schwaiger will try to claim their first home success but their way to the final won’t certainly be easy at all as the promoter expects some of the top female duos in Europe to register for the tournament.

After long negotiations the organizers sound happy and relieved at the same time that their annual tournament was eventually upgraded to a double gender Masters. “Without the support of OeVV (Austrian Volleyball Federation) President Peter Kleinmann and Vice-President Stefan Potyka, who tremendously helped us, this wouldn’t have been possible. Finally our tournament belongs to the real continental elite” the CEOs of VISION05, Dominik Gschiegl and Nicolas Hold, stress.

“As usual fans will have access to the centre court and to the Strandbad for free” continues Mr. Gschiegl. “These free passes will be available starting from April 4 at Autohaus Bierbaum in Baden as well as at all Erste Bank and Sparkasse branch offices. For those who want to get a reserved seat prices stand at 15 € per day while VIP tickets are available on our website, www.beachvolleyball-baden.at Our traditional Beach Volleyball party is scheduled for Saturday, June 1, with Ö3 (the biggest Austrian radio station) DJs Tobi Rudig & Clemens Wagner on two floors who will set the tone for a memorable night”.
