Organisers of second-round U20 Women / U21 Men World Champs qualifiers confirmed
2017 FIVB U20 Women / U21 Men Volleyball World Championship - European Qualification
Luxembourg, February 3, 2017. The organisers of the second and last round of European qualifications to the 2017 FIVB Men’s U21 / Women’s U20 World Championships are known with Serbia and Germany set to host the two men’s qualifiers, whereas Poland and Turkey will play host to the two four-team women’s second-round tournaments. The competition will take place from May 18-21, 2017 with the eventual winners of each tournament set to progress to the respective World Championship.
After completion of the first-round qualifiers held in early January, the composition of the second-round tournaments reads as follows:
Men’s U21
Pool E in Požarevac (SRB): Ukraine, Serbia, Bulgaria, France
Pool F in Germany (venue TBC): Poland, Germany, Belgium, Latvia
The eventual winners of the two second-round tournaments will join Russia and Italy plus hosts Czech Republic to compose the European contingent for the 2017 Men’s U21 Worlds (due to take place in Brno and Ceske Budejovice, June 23-July 2, 2017).
Women’s U20
Pool E in Wieliczka (POL): Germany, Belgium, Bulgaria, Poland
Pool F in Turkey (venue TBC): Russia, The Netherlands, Turkey, Croatia
The eventual winners of the two second-round tournaments will join Italy and Serbia to compose the European contingent for the 2017 Women’s U20 Worlds due to take place in Boca del Rio and Cordoba, Mexico, July 7-16, 2017.
