Istanbul, Turkey, January 23, 2017. Galatasaray ISTANBUL and VFM FRANCHES-MONTAGNES will be locking horns once again on Tuesday, January 24 in their second matchup on schedule for the 16th Finals of the 2017 CEV Volleyball Cup – Women.
Two weeks ago Galatasaray ISTANBUL were caught by surprise when VFM FRANCHES-MONTAGNES made a great start to their home match to take the first set by 27-25. Ignited by this unexpected setback, Galatasaray regrouped and got back on track to cruise to a 3-1 victory.
The players of Galatasaray are eager to make it through to the next round and feel ready to play VFM FRANCHES-MONTAGNES on home soil at Burhan Felek Volleyball Hall in Istanbul.
Galatasaray head coach Ataman Güneyligil emphasised the importance of taking the game as seriously as possible: “An important challenge awaits us. We have seen it two weeks ago in Switzerland. One round where our opponent did serve extremely well eventually cost us one set. We cannot let that happen again. Tomorrow we will face a team that will use every chance they have to make it to the next round. They will be resilient in defence and will use their servers in the best way they can. What matters is to take to the court as much focussed as possible, and stick with our game plan. That is what we will do tomorrow.”
