STARA PAZOVA make history with golden set victory over Rote Raben
2017 CEV Volleyball Cup - Women

Stara Pazova, Serbia, December 21, 2016. On Wednesday night Jedinstvo STARA PAZOVA of Serbia made history by first cruising to a 3-0 victory over Germany’s Rote Raben VILSBIBURG (25-17, 25-21, 25-11) before taking also the golden set that followed (18-16) to progress to the 16th Finals of the 2017 CEV Volleyball Cup – Women.

Jedinstvo dominated the ‘regular’ match showing great team work and a solid performance in all aspects of the game. It was one of the best matches played by STARA PAZOVA lately. The hosts continued to do so in the all-deciding golden set where they rushed to 13-6 and 14-10 leads but failed to capitalise on many match balls. The set turned into a real drama with the visitors closing in and edging ahead before STARA PAZOVA, much helped by their fans, rose to the occasion and finished the golden set at 18-16 in their favour to start the party.

Jedinstvo will resume their European campaign in January 2017 playing Hungary’s reigning national champions Linamar BÉKÉSCSABAI RSE in the 16th Finals.
