Fenerbahce and TRENTINO to lock horns again in CEV Cup semis
2017 CEV Volleyball Cup - Men

Istanbul, Turkey, March 31, 2017. On Saturday night, Fenerbahce SK ISTANBUL will be trying to fight their way back from a 0-3 loss they suffered on Tuesday evening in the first round of the 2017 CEV Volleyball Cup – Men semis with TRENTINO Diatec.

The Italians are one of the most decorated Volleyball teams of the past decade – they are four-time national champions, three-time winners of the CEV Volleyball Champions League and four-time gold medal winners from the FIVB Club World Championship. This season, they started their campaign in the CEV Cup by easily beating two Finnish teams – Hurrikaani LOIMAA and VaLePa SASTAMALA – before they won the Italian derby with LPR Volley PIACENZA in the quarterfinals. TRENTINO Diatec extended their winning streak on Tuesday when they rallied to a 3-0 home win in their first matchup with Fenerbahce SK ISTANBUL.

As for the Turkish team, they recently finished the regular season of their national league in first place. As for the CEV Cup, they first beat Israel’s Hapoel MATE-ASHER AKKO and Bulgaria’s Levski SOFIA before making it to the semis by edging France’s GFC AJACCIO in the quarterfinals.

The winners of this semi-final will play France’s TOURS VB or Germany’s United Volleys RHEINMAIN in the ‘grand finale’ of the competition.
