C.S.M. BUCURESTI celebrate away victory over 2015 gold medallists BURSA BBSK
2016 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup - Women

Bursa, Turkey, March 9, 2016. On Wednesday Romania’s C.S.M. BUCURESTI upset 2015 gold medallists BURSA BBSK of Turkey in the first round of the 2016 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup – Women semi-finals. The team from Romania’s capital claimed a 3-1 away win (25-18, 16-25, 25-23, 25-22) to get the right edge for the return match, which is scheduled for this coming Sunday in Bucharest.

The home team of BURSA BBSK did not start the match in the best way and lost the opening set before coming back strong in the second. Though the third set started quite promisingly for BURSA BBSK, midway through the Turks started making more and more mistakes and C.S.M. BUCURESTI did not waste this opportunity to claim the third set. BURSA BBSK kind of lost their determination and focus in the fourth set and their many mistakes paved the way with gold for C.S.M. BUCURESTI as the Romanians eventually secured a 3-1 away win.
