2016 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League - Women

Baku, Azerbaijan, February 8, 2016. Azerbaijan’s Lokomotiv BAKU will be hosting on Wednesday, February 10 Switzerland’s standout Volero ZÜRICH for the first round of the Playoffs 12 in the 2016 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Women.

There is a lot of anticipation for this match especially since Lokomotiv BAKU are the only team from Azerbaijan that made it through the League Round of Europe’s premier competition this year. The team captain of Volero, Natalya Mammadova, is indeed coming back to her hometown Baku to play this match. Lokomotiv will be trying to use the home advantage to cause a sensation in their first matchup with the Swiss champions that swept six matches in a row in Pool D dropping only one set on their way to completing such perfect campaign.

“Volero is definitely one of the strongest teams in this year’s Champions League and we expect a really tough match,” acknowledges the team captain of Lokomotiv BAKU, Czech opposite Aneta Havlickova. “However, we want to show that we can play a good match against such challenging opponent too. We know we have the quality to do so and we will be showing that on Wednesday,” she concludes.
