Calzedonia VERONA feel all the excitement of their first ever European final
2016 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup - Men
Verona, Italy, March 30, 2016. On Wednesday night Calzedonia VERONA will be trying to add another chapter to their fairy tale in what is their debut season in the European Cups. The Italian rookies are indeed hosting Russia’s Fakel NOVY URENGOY in the first round of the 2016 CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup – Men finals. The match will be broadcast nationwide in Italy by Fox Sports, as well as locally by Telenuovo. Live streaming for all fans will be available at www.laola1.tv
“We are just about to play a very important match,” said the coach of Calzedonia VERONA, Andrea Giani. “The Russian team is very strong and they have some young, yet interesting players on their roster. I think it is a great thing for us that we have the opportunity play this kind of match, a European final. Any such final provides a lot of anticipation and excitement and we feel that these feelings are being shared by everyone here in our home town.”
Russian coach Igor Chutchev said: “This is a very important match for our team and for the entire season. We play against Calzedonia and we know this a strong, actually very strong team. I know that some of their players can perform at the highest level, and for instance I am thinking of Taylor Sander, Uros Kovacevic, Sasa Starovic and Michele Baranowicz.”
