Former Y.R. of Macedonia take maximum points from home matches with Israel
2015 CEV Volleyball European League - Men

Skopje, Former Y.R. of Macedonia, July 19, 2015. The home heroes of the Former Y.R. of Macedonia got six points from their home matches with Israel in Pool A of the 2015 CEV Volleyball European League – Men. On Sunday they cruised to another 3:0 victory – as they had done also on Saturday – to re-assert their supremacy in the double header with the Israelis (29-27, 25-20, 25-19).

On Saturday things had been quite easy for the home side and so the players mentored by Zarko Ristoski entered the re-match quite relaxed. However, they had to deal with some tough resistance brought by their opponents and the hosts had to chase their rivals for most of the time. Still, towards the end of the opening set, the Macedonian players showed a lot of determination and cashed their first set ball to close it out at 29-27.

Israel was able to keep the score tight through to 15 all in the second set. After that, the hosts scored four consecutive points to make it 19:15 and even though their positive run was stopped by an Israeli time-out, they did not look back anymore and comfortably pocketed also the second set at 25-20.

The home heroes were off to a flying start in the third set (6:2) and even though Israel closed their gap down to 6:5 and then again to 9:8, the Former Y.R. of Macedonia was not to stop. The hosts widened their lead to 17:12 first and then extended it to 21:15 to finish it off at 25-19 to get another three valuable points for the standing of Pool A.

As he had done already on Saturday, Jovica Simovski paced the home team top scoring with 12 points.
