Novo Mesto, Slovenia, July 10, 2014. The Slovenian team is completing its 2014 CEV Volleyball European League - Women campaign with a double-header against Pool A leader and sure finalist Turkey at home, in Novo Mesto.
The Slovenes played two long and quite even matches last weekend in Maribor and after five legs of pool play in the European League, they feel tired. Head coach Bruno Najdic hopes that the girls will collect enough motivation and energy to conclude this competition with good games. ”We hope we can win at least one match. The Turks are the best team in our pool. They have a very strong and complete squad. I am sure these will be two long and very even matches.”
Slovenia is currently in the second position in Pool A standings. ”We hope we can keep this position,” Najdic said. “Either way, I am satisfied because we have shown good games in this year’s league. It was a good opportunity to see where we belong in European volleyball and what we have to improve in the coming year.”
Slovenia will play with Turkey on Friday at 20:30 and on Saturday at 18:00 local time at the Leon Stukelj sports hall in Novo Mesto. The Friday match is scheduled for live streaming on LAOLA1.tv.
