Baku, Azerbaijan, July 9, 2014. While Pool A of the 2014 CEV Volleyball European League - Women has already determined its winner - Turkey, and the other three teams have lost their chances to qualify for the final, the matches of the last League Round leg will still serve their purpose to provide more precious international experience to the young participating squads. The national team of Azerbaijan entertains Bulgaria for a double-header in Baku and will try to please its fans with enjoyable games.
Azerbaijan`s head coach Alexander Chervyakov assured that this time his team would be able to show the best possible results. “Our team is bottom of the pool standings and it is obvious that we will not be playing in the final,” he said. “But anyway the team will be trying to do its best, so that the fans could enjoy the games. The players are so young and I want them to develop their skills, even if they are making many mistakes. Any experience grows out of mistakes.”
Azerbaijan and Bulgaria will play at the AYS sports hall in the Azerbaijani capital on Friday and Saturday starting at 18:00 local time. The Friday match is scheduled for live streaming on LAOLA1.tv.
