Dinamo KAZAN and Volero ZÜRICH will chill and play at ease
2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League - Women

Kazan, Russia, December 16, 2013. Tuesday evening Russia’s champions Dinamo KAZAN is going to seal the group stage of the 2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League clashing with Volero ZÜRICH. Both teams have booked their tickets to the Playoffs 12 and the match in the capital of Tatarstan will become an opportunity for them to assay their strength before the knock-out phase.
After claiming four consecutive matches, Dinamo KAZAN had secured a place in the Playoffs 12 two rounds prior to the completion of the group stage. As for Volero ZÜRICH, its path to the Playoffs 12 turned out long and winding. The Swiss team lost their first two matches in the prelims – two white-knuckling nights for its fans. But then the Swiss side seized three games in a row and captured the opportunity to keep on fighting for the title in Europe’s elite club competition. It should be noted that Volero ZÜRICH has already won nine matches running after the return of their former head coach Dragutin Baltic.
In the course of the current season Volero ZÜRICH expanded their roster by signing the United States national team setter Courtney Thompson, winner of a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Another late addition to the group is Serbian libero Silvija Popovic, a 2011 European champion.
“Volero ZÜRICH has been continuously raising its game throughout the tournament refining its performances in all facets. The Swiss team reinforced its line-up with a couple of strong players and we should take this game very seriously”, says Dinamo KAZAN setter Daria Rossamakhina, who played all three sets in the previous match with Tauron MKS DABROWA GORNICZA.
There is no other team in the Champions League that crossed its ways with Dinamo KAZAN more often than Volero ZÜRICH. The upcoming match will be the fourth clash in their history and the Russian champions have so far a perfect record of three wins in as many matches.
