Dinamo KAZAN keeps perfect record after five rounds
2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League - Women

Dabrowa Gornicza, Poland, December 11, 2013. Russia’s Dinamo KAZAN emulated VakifBank ISTANBUL, Eczacibasi VitrA and Rabita BAKU as the players from Tatarstan scored on Wednesday their fifth straight victory in the prelims of the 2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Women. They did so by routing Poland’s Tauron MKS DABROWA GORNICZA in straight sets (25-22, 25-21, and 25-20) to keep a perfect record in the competition and top the charts of Pool F with maximum 15 points.
Actually the home heroines had caught a very good start showing a good performance in defense as well as in attack (8:5) but Dinamo had already flipped the charts around before the second technical time-out (12:14). The Russian champions displayed superb Volleyball but after a great block by Eleonora Dziekiewicz, Tauron MKS drew level at 19. Still Dinamo showed their class and experience to bring it home with the score of 25-22.
Dinamo KAZAN dominated the scene from the start up to the end of the second set and there was nothing that Tauron MKS could co to threaten their supremacy. Though they were trailing 0:2, the Polish vice-champions started the third set in high spirits (6:4) but Dinamo quickly evened the score at 8 all. The guests from Russia stepped up the quality of their performance and could seal a straight victory (25-20) to keep a perfect record in the competition.
“Today we played very good and did not make any stupid mistakes” said Dinamo KAZAN captain Maria Borodakova after the match.
“They have a world-class player in Ekaterina Gamova” stressed Tauron MKS top scorer Katarzyna Zaroslinska. “We are not happy with the score even though we showed some good actions tonight. If you want to stand a chance against a team like Dinamo, you need to play at 120%” added home captain Elzbieta Skowronska.
Tauron MKS mentor Nicola Negro was not that happy: “I think we could have played a little better than we did tonight. But nevertheless we shall not forget that we played one of the strongest teams in Europe right now” he concluded.
