Victory is a must for Azeryol in big match with Galatasaray
2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League - Women

Baku, Azerbaijan, December 9, 2013. On Tuesday Azeryol BAKU will be playing an extremely important home match with Turkey’s Galatasaray Daikin ISTANBUL as these teams are currently fighting for promotion to the Playoffs 12 of the 2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Women. Azeryol is currently ranked third with six points while Galatasaray tops the charts in Pool E with 10 followed by Italian rookie Prosecco Doc-Imoco CONEGLIANO with seven. Last week Azeryol beat CONEGLIANO to get back in contention for a spot in the next stage of Europe’s elite competition.
A victory is therefore a must for Azeryol and the players around Brazilian-born head coach Angelo Vercesi. “Our participation in this competition is not about experience at the highest level. We already have players who have been performing at this level for a long time. We have to win games and this is a must for us” Vercesi says. “Galatasaray is a very strong team with many good players. They have showed their right to play in this elite competition; even though I know that we have a difficult task ahead, I am sure that we can cope with this” he concludes.
