VakifBank wants to prolong amazing winning streak to 65 straight matches
2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League - Women

Istanbul, Turkey, December 2, 2013. VakifBank ISTANBUL will be trying to prolong their amazing winning streak – 64 matches in a row – on Wednesday as they play Poland’s Atom Trefl SOPOT for the fourth round of action in prelim Pool C of the 2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Women. VakifBank is also the undisputed leader in their Pool with a perfect record of three victories in as many matches so far.
VakifBank started their campaign by routing Belgian rookie GENT Dames in straight sets and they did the same in their first home match as they outclassed Dinamo Romprest BUCURESTI of Romania with the same score. Last week in Gdansk they lost their first set but bounced back to edge SOPOT 3:1.
“Atom Trefl showed last week that they are very strong” says VakifBank mentor Giovanni Guidetti. “We fought bravely and showed great determination to claim that away victory. What we need now is to win at home as well. We feel ready to play SOPOT once more and our goal is to make it four in a row.”
“We will have a tough game to go through to prolong our winning streak” adds team captain Gözde Sonsirma Kirdar. “If we beat SOPOT again we’ll almost be sure to finish on top of the charts in our Pool. I wish that many supporters will come to the stadium to cheer on us on Wednesday.”
