Agel PROSTEJOV edges SCHWERINER SC in battle for third place
2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League - Women

Prostejov, Czech Republic, November 26, 2013. The third round of action in prelim Pool D of the 2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Women featured two teams that had not earned a single point before. The clash between Agel PROSTEJOV and SCHWERINER SC, which was supposed to bring back the lost hopes for continuing the campaign in this year’s European Cups, was finally claimed by the hosts who scored a 3:1 win (25-18, 23-25, 25-17, and 25-17).
All four sets were really close for a long time and were always decided at the end. In the final part of set 2 the guests fought with glowing hearts to keep the pace of the Czechs, but the other sets were definitely orchestrated by the hosts. At 19:17, 18:17 and 16:15 the Czech champions always got the right boost and began to perform much better in all fundamentals not giving a chance to their opponents.
“Both teams knew that it was the battle for third place in Pool D, as Eczacibasi and RC CANNES play at a different level. Therefore the match tonight was very important, and I am very happy that we managed to win. We sealed the match for ourselves because we did better in attacking where we had more dangerous players than the guests. The opposing side made much more mistakes than we did, so I think we deserved to win,“ said Miroslav Cada, the head coach of Agel PROSTEJOV.
“We tried to prepare really well for this very important match and we were looking forward to it. And our good preparation paid off. In general, we delivered a good performance tonight and managed to score an immensely important win, and in front of our fans. It makes us feel really happy,” added Agel PROSTEJOV opposite Katie Carter.

“I have to congratulate the hosts on their win. I think that tonight the opponent did a lot better than us. We managed to put PROSTEJOV under significant pressure only in the second set. Tonight we made too many unforced errors and the hosts were physically stronger, so we have to work on that and get ready for the return match in Schwerin” said Felix Koslowski, the young head coach of SCHWERINER SC.
“Our game was not good tonight, we can usually do better. Maybe we are tired now after the demanding schedule in the German league and also after the long journey by bus to Prostejov” concluded Lousi Souza Ziegler, the captain of SCHWERINER SC.
