Dinamo KAZAN routs Romanian rookie Stiinta BACAU in straight sets

Kazan, Russia, November 26, 2013. In the third round of the CL group stage Dinamo KAZAN routed Stiinta BACAU in straight sets (25-16, 25-18, and 25-16) as the Romanian spikers failed to deal with the terrific Russian block. Dinamo KAZAN extended its winning streak to three consecutive matches and cemented its leadership in Pool F.
Middle blocker Regina Moroz joined the team on Tuesday night after she had missed the last match of the Russian Superleague with VC TYUMEN (3:0) because of injury and the starting six got back to its original line-up.
The Romanian team started the game well and took the lead 5:3 with furious attacks by their captain Denisa Rogojinaru. But soon the guests had to cope with a much different scenario. Maria Borodakova and Regina Moroz blocked steadily scoring point after point and in a short while Dinamo KAZAN had doubled their lead – 14:7.
The Romanian defense was virtually powerless against Ekaterina Gamova. Stiinta BACAU mentor tirelessly shuffled up the lineup, but no substitutes could make the Romanian team play better – the visitors’ performance was rather weak in all fundamentals. In the third set Dinamo KAZAN outplayed its rival with a huge margin – 21:12 before cashing the final 3-0. Ekaterina Gamova became the top scorer of the match registering 17 points.
“We knew that Dinamo KAZAN is a very strong team and our chances were really slim against them. Not even playing their best game, the Russian team sealed the match. I hope that we will play better at home,” said the head coach of Stiinta BACAU Florin Grapa after the match.
“I would not call Stiinta BACAU desperate outsiders. Just today the Romanian team made too many mistakes in attack. My players sometimes lose concentration and they got relaxed, but it did not prevent us from winning,” said after the match the head coach of Dinamo KAZAN Rishat Gilyazutdinov.
