VakifBank going for 56th consecutive victory in CL second round
2014 CEV Denizbank Volleyball Champions League - Women

Istanbul, Turkey, October 29, 2013. With a winning streak of 55 consecutive matches by combining international and domestic competitions, VakifBank ISTANBUL looks confidently towards their second game in the prelims of the 2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Women. Last week the titleholders and club world champions edged rookie GENT Dames in straight sets and in the second round coming up on Thursday they will play Dinamo Romprest BUCURESTI of Romania.
“We have prepared for this game as thoroughly as possible” says Italian-born head coach Giovanni Guidetti (pictured). “All players want to fight to retain their title in this competition. Our opponents are extra motivated when they play us and since we have noticed that we try to improve game after game.”
“We just won a game in the national league beating Galatasaray Daikin in straight sets but the most important thing for us at the moment is the game with Dinamo Romprest” adds team captain Gözde Sonsirma Kirdar. “We know we are representing Turkey in this competition and we want to live up to the expectations around us.”
