Dinamo KAZAN goes for home victory to follow up on straight victory in Zurich
2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League - Women

Kazan, Russia, October 29, 2013. On Wednesday Dinamo KAZAN will be playing its first home match in the 2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League against Poland’s Tauron MKS DABROWA GORNICZA. In the first round played last week Dinamo and Tauron MKS scored straight victories as they easily edged Volero ZÜRICH and Stiinta BACAU respectively.
It is the third season for Dinamo KAZAN in Europe’s elite club tournament. In 2012, the team from Tatarstan won bronze while last year they lost to Rabita BAKU of Azerbaijan in the Playoffs 6. Tauron MKS DABROWA GORNICZA returned to the CEV Volleyball Champions League last year. They failed to qualify from the pool suffering defeats from Eczacibasi VitrA ISTANBUL and Azerrail BAKU.

“Among all the opponents we have in our group, Volero ZÜRICH is the most familiar for us. As for Tauron MKS DABROWA GORNICZA, I know nothing about this team. I’m sure the coaches will tell us how to play. In the Champions League you cannot underestimate your rivals, so we need to psych ourselves up before every match”, said the Italian wing spiker of Dinamo KAZAN Antonella Del Core.

Last weekend, Dinamo KAZAN scored the sixth victory in a row in the Russian Superleague and became the sole leader of the tournament. In an away match, KAZAN routed another representative of Russia in the 2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Omichka OMSK REGION 3:0 (26-24, 25-15, and 27-25).
“Our concentration and mental determination were optimal in Omsk and it helped us achieve the desired result. Although after a long flight from Zurich, one could prepare for the worst scenario. However, it would be premature to say that the team is fully ready. Soon there will be a break in the club competition due to the World Grand Champions Cup in Japan. We’ll take this time to master combinations and achieve a better team work”, said the head coach of Dinamo KAZAN Rishat Gilyazutdinov.

The match against Tauron MKS DABROWA GORNICZA will be the first one the spectators will have to buy tickets for. Prior to that Volleyball in Kazan has always been free of charge.
