Crvena Zvezda ready for CL start
2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Women

Beograd, Serbia, October 21, 2013. Though they are one of the youngest teams in the competition, the players of Crvena Zvezda are ready for their CL debut as they host Azerbaijan’s rookie Igtisadchi BAKU on Tuesday.
“The first game with this team from Azerbaijan is a huge challenge for us considering the players they have on their roster” head coach Ratko Pavlicevic says. “Their style is quite unusual as they play fast Volleyball with lots of counterattacks. They have a lot of players with much experience but I am sure that we can stand a chance. I hope that we will be able to give our fans something to cheer about at the end of the day” he adds.
Looking forward to what was labelled the “match of the week”, team captain Julia Milovits says: “It is going to be a very nice adventure and I am happy to be the captain of this team. We will try to exploit what we have done in our preparations and if we can seize the night, that would be amazing. However, our priority remain the national league and cup. The main task is to use the Champions League matches to prepare for what is ahead in the domestic arena” she concludes.
