RC CANNES ready to shine
2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Women

Cannes, France, October 20, 2013. France’s RC CANNES will open their campaign in the 2014 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League on Tuesday as they host Germany’s champions SCHWERINER SC at “Palais des Victoires”. As they lack serious competitors in the national league, the players from the French Riviera are looking forward to the start of their European adventure.
RC CANNES signed five new players for the 2013/2014 season and they only had a very short time to settle down in Cannes and start working with the team. “However, we have already found a good chemistry and our defense play is working fine too. We feel stronger than last year” says team captain Victoria Ravva. The goal set by Ravva is to finish the prelims in first place in a group that – next to Germany’s champions – also includes the likes of Turkey’s Eczacibasi VitrA ISTANBUL and Czech champions Agel PROSTEJOV.
“We shall look forward to the start of this adventure because the future is a horizon we want to achieve and not a fate we are going to accept” said club President Anny Courtade.
