Parma all set for Women’s World Championship Drawing of Lots
2014 FIVB Volleyball World Championship - Women
Lausanne, Switzerland, March 7, 2014. All eyes will be on the Italian city of Parma on Monday when the official Drawing of Lots for the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship Italy 2014 takes place at the Farnese Theatre at 16:30 (local time).
The Drawing of Lots for the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship Italy 2014 will determine the make-up of the pools in the first round of this year’s tournament, which will take place from September 23 to October 12 across the following six cities: Rome, Trieste, Verona, Bari, Modena, and Milan.
The ceremony will be broadcast in Italy by RAI Sport from 16:30 to 18:00 (local time) and will be live streamed on www.fivb.org

It will be carried out in the presence of FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F°, Italian Volleyball Federation President Mr. Carlo Magri, Organising Committee President Mr. Carlo Salvatori, Italian Olympic Committee President Mr. Giovanni Malagò. CEV President André Meyer will also attend.
The evening will also see the unveiling of the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship trophy especially designed for the event.
The organisers have also put together an exciting line-up of nationally known artists for a rich programme highlighting many aspects of Italy’s sporting and cultural heritage.
To date 18 out of 24 teams have qualified for the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship Italy 2014.
The Asian, South American, African and European confederations have completed their qualification processes, with one of the European spots reserved for hosts, Italy. Only NORCECA have still to determine the countries that will participate in the tournament. Apart from hosts Italy, the European contingent also includes the likes of Russia, Germany, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Netherlands, Serbia, and Turkey.
