TRENTINO's run continues with fourth consecutive victory
2013 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Women

Kedzierzyn-Kozle, Poland, November 21, 2012. TRENTINO Diatec of Italy prolonged on Wednesday its winning streak in the prelims of the 2013 CEV Volleyball Champions League by edging once more Zaksa KEDZIERZYN-KOZLE, this time with the score of 3:1, to firmly stay atop of the charts in Pool C with 12 points out of four matches.
The opening of the first set was extremely close with Zaksa anchored by Antonin Rouzier and the guests from Italy eventually cruising past in the score by the first mandatory stop (7:8) with the help of their captain Matey Kaziyski and Cuban-born star Osmany Juantorena. TRENTINO stretched the lead to 12:8 as the hosts were having problems in reception but Zaksa fought back to 14 all and even got to the front by the second technical time-out (16:15). With the addition of Dominik Witczak, Zaksa even sped up to 20:17 but TRENTINO clawed back and after a terrific final rush, a splendid block on Rouzier sealed the 24-26 for the guests.
With Kaziyski on fire, especially from the serving line, TRENTINO opened with a 6:2 run in set 2 and by almost making no mistakes at all cruised away with the score standing at 16:9 by the time the second mandatory stop was called. Zaksa looked lost and two more mistakes by Rouzier did contribute the final 15-25 for TRENTINO.
Zaksa fought bravely in the third set with Witczak replacing Rouzier and helping his side go up 6:4 and 10:7. A series of good services by Sergii Kapelus widened the margin to 18:12 and a terrific counterattack by Witczak moved the count to 20:14, paving the way for a splendid 25-16 in favor of Zaksa that had been able throughout the set to reduce to a minimum the offensive skills of Kaziyski and Juantorena. TRENTINO restored nevertheless its supremacy right from the start of the fourth set and always kept a small lead all the way through the final 23-25 and 1:3 that were sealed by a mistake of Witczak.

“Zaksa is a very tough opponent and I want to congratulate the Polish team on their performance tonight” said TRENTINO coach Radostin Stoytchev. “They showed great determination, good blocks and excellent serves so that we lost our rhythm in the third set, but all in all I would say that we could control the game”.
“We did our best to stand one of the best teams in the world and I believe that tonight we showed that TRENTINO is within our reach. We missed a bit of luck in certain situations especially in the last and deciding set. I want to thank my players for the good performance they displayed tonight” said home mentor Daniel Castellani.
