ACH Volley seeks its chance in the matches against Euphony ASSE-LENNIK
2013 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Men

Ljubljana, Slovenia, November 13, 2012. ACH Volley is facing two decisive matches in the next couple of legs of the CEV Volleyball Champions League if it wants to keep a chance for continuing its campaign in Europe’s most prestigious club competition. Its opponent in both matches will be the Belgian team of Euphony ASSE-LENNIK.
The press conference in the Stožice hall was attended by the head coach of ACH Volley and Euphony ASSE-LENNIK, Luka Slabe and Marko Klok, the team captains Tim Verschueren (Euphony ASSE-LENNIK) and Andrej Flajs (ACH Volley), as well as by Slovenian player Miha Plot, who is currently playing as libero for the Belgian team. The match on Wednesday is important for both teams as a defeat would already eliminate them from the next round of the Champions League, while a victory would keep alive their chances for making it through to the best 12.

Miha Plot said: “I am very happy to play in Slovenia, in my home country, and in a Champions League match no less. We came here to win and get 3 points. I believe this will be a difficult, but interesting and good match for everyone – players and spectators”.
Tim Verscheueren, captain of Euphony ASSE-LENNIK, agrees with his colleague: “This will be a match both teams want to win, because both lost their previous matches. Many people are coming to watch the match and I am looking forward to playing here, in front of a full house. We hope we can win the game, but the same is true for our opponents. I am looking forward to a nice game”.
Marko Klok, head coach of Euphony ASSE-LENNIK: “For us, this is a game we play to win. We are having some difficult times in the Belgian league, but we are slowly doing better in the ranking. And we therefore want to show our level also in the Champions League. We know we are meeting a good opponent tomorrow, but we are still playing to win, because we also want to qualify for the next round”.

Andrej Flajs, captain of ACH Volley, hopes that more spectators will turn up for the match tomorrow than against Generali UNTERHACHING, but that more would support ACH Volley than Plot, whom he welcomed on the home ground. “In the next two matches against LENNIK we want to gain all six points in order to keep our chances to make it to the next round alive. The team is optimistic that we can accomplish this goal, but we will need the support of our fans”.
Luka Slabe, head coach of ACH Volley: “We have high respect for our opponents tomorrow. I know that Marko Klok is a tough competitor, and we have some history together from the time when we played in the Netherlands. We are expecting a tough battle. All their players are involved in the match a lot and it will be tough for us, but we are here to win. And whoever does better tomorrow will be closer to that goal we both want to achieve”.
