Jihostroj confronted by Russian giant in third round of play
2013 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Men

Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic, November 11, 2012. After scoring a splendid straight win in the previous round of play by downing Budvanska Rivijera BUDVA, the Czechs of Jihostroj CESKE BUDEJOVICE will be hosting Russia’s Lokomotiv NOVOSIBIRSK for the third round of action in Pool B of the 2013 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Men.
Lokomotiv is the provisional leader of the group with 6 points and the Czech national champions expect a very tough match on Tuesday. “Lokomotiv is one of the strongest teams participating in this year’s Champions League” says Czech mentor Jan Svoboda. “However, we will fight bravely especially as we enjoy the home advantage and the support of our fans”.
Jihostroj recently suffered its first defeat in the national league losing at the tie-break to Pribram and the main star of the group, Peter Platenik, has been out for the past week struggling with an injury. Still Jihostroj claimed its last match in the Czech league by routing Odolena Voda in straight sets (25-17, 25-13, and 25-19). Some 2’500 fans shall be in attendance on Tuesday and coach Svoboda adds: “We are well prepared for the match with Lokomotiv. We will do our best”.
