Bulgarian rookies are downed by Noliko in straight sets
2013 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Men

Samokov, Bulgaria, October 31, 2012. Belgium’s Noliko MAASEIK easily disposed of the hosts and rookies of Marek Union-Ivkoni DUPNITSA in the second round of play for Pool F that was held on Wednesday evening at “Arena Samokov” in Bulgaria. Anchored by Latvian Hermans Egleskalns who scored 14 points, Noliko cruised past the Bulgarian side in three sets (25-15, 25-23, and 25-19). With this result Noliko keeps an immaculate record in the Pool with 6 points out of 2 matches, while DUPNITSA remains at the bottom of the charts with zero points.
The hosts started pretty well (4:3) but Noliko went up already by the first technical time-out (4:8), gradually opening the gap (10:20) and eventually sealing the opening set with a comfortable margin (15-25). The score remained pretty close until the very end in the second set before Jelte Maan claimed the final 23-25 for Noliko. Marek Union-Ivkoni had made 10 unforced errors in set 2 and the negative trend did not change in set 3 where Noliko moved up 6:8 and a couple of blocks by Simon Van de Voorde stretched the margin by the second mandatory stop (11:16). Noliko did play some superb Volleyball and could eventually finish the match in straight sets (19-25).
