Tomis CONSTANTA hopes to turns the odds around with PGE Skra
2013 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Men

Constanta, Romania, October 29, 2012. After losing this past week to Dinamo MOSCOW in straight sets, Tomis CONSTANTA is ready for its historic home debut in the prelims of the CEV Volleyball Champions League by playing last year’s silver medalists of PGE Skra BELCHATOW. The match is scheduled for this coming November 1 and will be a major headline for the people living in that city on the banks of the Black Sea.
PGE Skra comes from a very solid performance whereby it edged Turkey’s Fenerbahce Grundig ISTANBUL in straight sets. Tomis does not have a good tradition with Polish teams in the European Cups as the Romanian side lost at the golden set in the 1/4 finals of the 2008 CEV Cup to Wkret-Met Domex CZESTOCHOWA, in the semis of the 2009 Challenge Cup to JASTRZEBSKI Wegiel and to Politechnika WARSZAWSKA again in the semis of last year’s CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup.
After losing 2:3 in Bucharest to CSM Agronomy in the last round of the national league, the players of Tomis hope to cause a sensation as they play PGE Skra. “It’s hard to explain what happened in Bucharest after the good match we played in Moscow. We will now play last year’s runner-ups and the bronze medalists of the Club World Championships in Doha, so our main goal is to play good and show a good performance to our fans” says local mentor Radovan Gacic.
