Great Volleyball fiesta expected in Rzeszow for Resovia home debut
2013 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Men

Rzeszow, Poland, October 28, 2012. On Wednesday the Polish national champions of Asseco Resovia RZESZOW will host Remat ZALAU for the second round of action in Pool G of the 2013 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Men. Last week Asseco Resovia won its first match in France against Arago de SETE whereas the Romanian champions were defeated at home by Bre Banca Lannutti CUNEO of Italy in straight sets.
Both teams will proceed to this game in different moods. Asseco Resovia has claimed this Sunday its last duel in the Polish PlusLiga against JASTRZEBSKI Wegiel (3:0) and is currently ranked fourth in the provisional standings with 8 points out of 4 games. On the other hand Remat ZALAU has lost so far all their games in the Romanian league gaining only 1 point in 4 matches. On paper Asseco Resovia is definitely pre-favorite to overpower the Romanian team but head coach Andrzej Kowal as well as captain Aleh Akhrem warned against disregarding the opponents.
“I always say that in Champions League we cannot underestimate any team. Remat ZALAU will have nothing to lose and they can play without any pressure. From my experience I can tell that the games against such rivals are really difficult because the opponents are risking a lot and they can play more relaxed. That is why it is so important for us to play at 100 % and be focused on that game all the time. I’m sure that we will be very concentrated as we are playing at home and we want to show great Volleyball to our fans” stated Aleh Akhrem.
“I wouldn’t say that Remat ZALAU is a weaker opponent than the others. In theory maybe there are stronger teams in our pool but it’s all about our attitude to this game. If we don’t play our Volleyball with the right approach, determination and focus we can lose our alertness and get into troubles. My players can’t think that it’s going to be an easy game. We have to play on a good level and pressure our rivals. I am convinced that Remat ZALAU players will be very determined and that is why we have to play with the right attitude and commitment” added Andrzej Kowal.

Mariusz Sordyl, Remat ZALAU mentor and former player of Resovia team in the past years, stressed that for his players the participation in the CEV Volleyball Champions League is something very special.
“For our team every game in the CEV Volleyball Champions League is a big challenge and invaluable experience on the international arena. Moreover, a competition with such opponents like Asseco Resovia is an opportunity to play a match in an incredible atmosphere created by the enthusiastic Polish supporters. We are aware of the fact that RZESZOW is one of the best clubs in Europe. They are definitely favorites to win this Wednesday’s game. However, I’m sure that this amazing atmosphere in Podpromie sports hall will infect my players and despite our problems with injuries the Polish fans will see my team fighting for every single point” he emphasized.
“Asseco Resovia is one of the best teams in Europe. We respect them a lot and we are coming to Poland in order to show a good evolution in our play. We hope that we will be able to reach the level of our opponents and to contribute a nice show for the fans. The Polish supporters love Volleyball and they know everything about this sport” concluded Adrian Feher, libero of Remat ZALAU.
It is worth mentioning that all Champions League games are very much awaited by Asseco Resovia supporters. What’s more, “Rzeszow – the city that lives Volleyball” is the slogan of the promotional campaign associated with the 2013 CEV Volleyball Champions League.
