Acqua Paradiso is ready to challenge Russian giant
2012 CEV Volleyball Cup - Men
Monza, Italy, March 13, 2012. Italy’s Acqua Paradiso MONZA will play on Wednesday Russia’s heavyweight Dinamo MOSCOW for the semifinals of the 2012 CEV Volleyball Cup – Men. The match will be broadcast live by Sportitalia and the club has embarked on an ad-hoc ticketing campaign, with the entrance costing only 0.50 € for children up to 14 years of age and 5 € for all other spectators. This is the second time in history that the club has been able to make it to the semifinals of the European Cups, having already achieved that same feat some 11 years ago.
MONZA booked a ticket to the semis some weeks ago after downing twice Romania’s Remat ZALAU, first 3:1 in Baia Mare and then in straight sets at “Palaiper”. As for Dinamo, the Muscovites did a great job in the Challenge Round by edging twice – home and away – Iraklis THESSALONIKI and always in straight sets.
“This is going to be a very tough match” says home coach Emanuele Zanini. “Dinamo is a strong side that combines some typical Russian features, like extreme physical power, with a fast, more European-like Volleyball, so we have to play at our best if we want to make it to the final”.
