ACH Volley joins grid for semis in CEV Volleyball Cup
2012 CEV Volleyball Cup - Men

Ljubljana, Slovenia, February 8, 2012. ACH Volley LJUBLJANA qualified tonight for the semis of the 2012 CEV Volleyball Cup after edging Knack ROESELARE of Belgium in three sets (25-20, 25-17, 25-22) to back up last week’s win in the previous round of action.
ROESELARE asked for a first time-out as the score stood at 7:2 for the home side of ACH Volley in the opening set; the guests were having problems in reception but that stop did not help much, as some blocks contributed by Milan Rasic, Alen Sket and Matej Vidic widened the gap (14:5). Knack substituted setter Stijn D’Hulst with Ryan Ammerman and some good serving of Hendrik Tuerlinckx reduced a bit the deficit (18:11). Home mentor Igor Kolakovic stopped the game at 22:18 as Knack was performing well in defense; his players got the right boost and a block of Rasic sealed the deal at 25-20.
ACH Volley profited of many Belgian mistakes to go up 8:5 in set 2 but Knack drew level at 9 all with the help of youngster Sam Deroo. Unfortunately for the few Belgian supporters in attendance at “Tivoli” sports hall, ACH Volley got a margin of 3 and sped up to go for the 2:0 (25-17).
The home side went quickly up 6:2 in the third set but this margin vanished a few moments later as Knack fought back with strong serving of Tuerlinckx. The score stayed close up to the end before Klemen Cebulj showed off his quality to take ACH Volley into the semis of the CEV Cup.
Alen Sket paced the home side tonight with 19 points while Sam Deroo and Joppe Paulides scored 13 apiece for Knack.
