Noliko MAASEIK takes two-zero lead in Playoffs final
News from the clubs
Maaseik, Belgium, April 19, 2012. Noliko MAASEIK caught an excellent start in the Playoffs finals of Belgium’s national league by scoring two wins in the first couple of matches for the Championship series and needs only an additional positive result to retain its title from last year.
However, the first two matches of that series with Euphony ASSE-LENNIK were really close, with Noliko coming back from 1:2 down in sets to take the first game with the score of 3:2 (27-25, 27-29, 20-25, 25-18, and 15-8). The same scenario unfolded on Wednesday as the series moved to the home of Euphony, i.e. the “Molenbos” sports centre, where ASSE-LENNIK took set one and three and even enjoyed a comfortable lead in the fourth set before finally losing to Noliko at the tie-break (25-20, 20-25, 25-19, 22-25, and 11-15). Noliko needs to seize the night just once more to celebrate its fourteenth crown in the national league.
“We have to remain a 100% focused as ASSE-LENNIK has nothing to lose and I expect a very nervous game. Our sports hall, the Lotto Dôme, will be sold-out and I hope we will be able to take the trophy in front of our great fans” says wing spiker Kevin Klinkenberg.
