Czech champions to play Italy's heavyweight Bre Banca Lannutti CUNEO
2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Men

Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic, January 8, 2012. After scoring a 0:3 away win in Prague, Jihostroj CESKE BUDEJOVICE is currently ranked first in the Czech national league. The group has suffered only one defeat so far in the national competitions and had some tough training sessions even during the Christmas time.
With Filip Habr having to nurse a knee injury, the main setter for the upcoming match with Italy’s Bre Banca Lannutti CUNEO will be Petr Zapletal. The Czechs would like to repeat at home the amazing win in straight sets they took in Italy some weeks ago. “It was a big success” recalls head coach Jan Svoboda.
Jihostroj currently winds up the standings of Pool D but the gap to Generali UNTERHACHING and Stade Poitevin POITIERS is very narrow, 1 and 2 points respectively, so the Czechs still have their chances to qualify for the Playoffs 12.
Bre Banca Lannutti is the leader of the group and the clear-cut favorite of the game scheduled for Wednesday at 6 pm local time. “We expect some 1’500 fans so the atmosphere shall be great” says the general manager of Jihostroj.
