TRENTINO dominates the scene in Beograd
2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Men

Beograd, Serbia, October 25, 2011. TRENTINO PlanetWin365 needed only 66 minutes this afternoon to edge the local guys of Partizan Termoelektro BEOGRAD in straight sets (25-18, 25-14, 25-19) and re-assert its absolute dominance in Pool C. The triple World champion and winner of the past three editions of the CEV Volleyball Champions League dominated the scene at the “Sumice” sports hall in front of some 1’000 supporters.
The Italians immediately set the pace of the match (8:6, 16:14, 21:17) and easily wrapped it up for the final 25-18. The team mentored by Radostin Stoytchev was absolutely dominant in the second with the home guys – as usual dressed in black and white – being not able to handle the terrific services of Osmany Juantorena. With TRENTINO moving up quickly to 21:9, the home side could score only 5 more points in this section of the game.
Partizan briefly got into the game in set 3 but with the return of Matey Kaziyski TRENTINO changed gear and could finalize the game with a perfect 3:0. Czech opposite Jan Stokr top scored for the Italians with 14, while Kaziyski and Steve Brinkman contributed 10 and 9 respectively. As for the home team, Aleksandar Minic scored 14 and captain Nikola Mijailovic added 12 to the count.
“After the very tough matches we recently had in the national league we are very happy with this result” commented Stoytchev. “We had the opportunity to rest some players and I am satisfied with our performance”.
The home coach Milan Djuricic added: “We had some problems in reception and Juantorena was really overwhelming. Our rival was really strong but as soon as we fixed our problems in defense, the game was pretty equal. We missed quite many side-outs in the third set”.
“We did not use our chances” said home setter Aleksa Brdjovic while Jan Stokr concluded: “It was not an easy game but we displayed a good rhythm”.
