Lokomotiv welcomes Hypo Tirol to Siberia's largest city
2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Men

Novosibirsk, Russia, October 23, 2011. After losing its first match this past Thursday to Lube Banca Marche MACERATA of Italy, the players of Russia’s Lokomotiv NOVOSIBIRSK are currently recovering from their long trip back to Siberia’s largest city but at the same time trying to get ready for their home debut in Europe’s most elitist competition. The match with Austria’s Hypo Tirol INNSBRUCK is scheduled for this coming Wednesday, October 26.
“We got the right to join the 2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League after claiming the last edition of the Russian Cup almost a year ago” says local head coach Andrey Voronkov. “This participation is a real honor for us and we are very much looking forward to hosting some of the best European teams here in Novosibirsk. Our goal is to play as good as we can and make our fans happy” he adds.
Before they host Hypo Tirol, the Russian guys are set to play the third leg of the Russian national league today as they face Ural UFA in the capital city of the Republic of Bashkortostan. This is the team where US American setter Lloy Ball moved to after leaving Zenit KAZAN and that recently signed Italian coach Angiolino Frigoni for the 2011/2012 campaign.
