Bre Banca Lannutti CUNEO hosts Czech champion for second leg in Pool D
2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Men

Cuneo, Italy, October 21, 2011. After claiming its first match this past Wednesday by edging Generali UNTERHACHING in Germany, Bre Banca Lannutti CUNEO is gradually getting ready for its first home game in Pool D of the 2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League coming up next week against Jihostroj CESKE BUDEJOVICE of the Czech Republic.
Europe’s most elitist competition is an absolute priority this year for CUNEO with the Italians missing only this trophy to complete their unique and great showcase from the past 15 years.

“It’s going to be a great feeling to play our first home match in the Champions League in front of our fans” says head coach Flavio Gulinelli who joined the team this past summer after Alberto Giuliani moved to Lube Banca Marche MACERATA. Our clear goal is to win against Jihostroj as we do not have to make things more complicated for us in the prelims”.

Jihostroj CESKE BUDEJOVICE travels to Italy after losing this past Wednesday to Stade Poitevin POITIERS 1:3. In spite of this defeat, the Czechs were pretty happy as they could take home their first set in the Champions League. Opposite Radek Motys commented at the end of the match: “We played a good game and I think we surprised our opponent, especially in the second and fourth set”. The Czech head coach, Jan Svoboda, agreed with him: “I think it was a pretty balanced match; we have a very good team this year and I hope we’ll enjoy a successful season”.
