Home opening against Fenerbahce for Hypo Tirol INNSBRUCK
2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Men

Innsbruck, Austria, October 18, 2011. Austria’s Hypo Tirol INNSBRUCK opens its campaign in the 2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League on Thursday with a home match against Fenerbahce ISTANBUL of Turkey.
Head coach Stefan Chrtiansky states realistically that his side is not the pre-favorite in Pool E as well as for the match against Fenerbahce: “We are facing a very strong team on Thursday with three great spikers that are really hard to stop. We are well prepared and ready to fight for every ball and may be it is in our favor that we might surprise one or the other. It is very hard to say which teams in our Pool will make it to the Playoffs. It will be a very tough competition and it starts on Thursday. We want to show our fans a great match and spectacular scenes on the court and we are hoping for a great atmosphere off the court also. With the support of our fans we were able to raise our level of play also in the past”.

The Tyroleans know that it will be very important to keep a consistent passing game in order to compete with Fenerbahce. On the other hand Hypo Tirol INNSBRUCK will try to create some pressure with their serves, in order to make it a little harder for the Turkish offense. With Ivan Miljkovic, Lionel Marshall and Tomislav Coskovic three very effective attackers are playing for Fenerbahce and it will be hard for the Tyroleans to slow them down or even stop them.

The organizers are expecting and hoping for a sold out crowd at the home opener of the 2012 CEV Volleyball Champions League. But not only Austrian fans are expected, also a lot of Turkish people living in Austria have shown their interest in attending the game and already reserved a couple hundred tickets for their fan club.
