The quarter-finals are getting closer and closer for #CLVolleyW and #CLVolleyM
CEV Champions League Volley 2021

Luxembourg, January 27, 2021.  No surprises in Women’s Pool B where A. Carraro Imoco CONEGLIANO and Fenerbahçe Opet ISTANBUL continue their winning streak.  In Men’s Pool A on stage in Belchatow, Grupa Azoty KĘDZIERZYN KOŹLE confirm the first place in the standings, thus earning a ticket to the quarterfinals.

Men's Pool A

A slow start to the match for PGE Skra BELCHATOW, but they managed to win in four sets. Lindemans AALST gave it their all, but remain without points. The Polish side are now second in Pool A, hoping it will see them through to the quarterfinals.  The top scorer of the game was Dusan Petković (16 points) who has his birthday on 27th January.

 

With their fifth consecutive victory in Pool A, Grupa Azoty KĘDZIERZYN KOŹLE have earned themselves a spot in the quarterfinals. On Wednesday they only had to fend off Fenerbahçe HDI ISTANBUL in the first set and when the Polish team had secured it, it was straight forward to a 3-0 win.

Women's Pool B

Fenerbahçe Opet ISTANBUL secure a second straight-set victory in the second leg of the 4th Round of the competition, beating Calcit Volley KAMNIK. The Turkish team keeps a strong second position in Pool B, having now 12 points in the table from four wins, while Kamnik are facing their last chance to win a game in the Champions League, as they will be facing hosts VB Nantes on Thursday.

Kelsey Robinson was elected MVP of the match, scoring 14 points for Fenerbahce - including 11 spikes and 3 aces. She also recorded 70% of positive reception throughout the match.

A. Carraro Imoco CONEGLIANO are only one match away from a perfect record in the 4th Round, as the Italian team recorded another victory without losing a single set. Competing against the second leg hosts VB NANTES, the Italians brought in Paola Egonu back to the line-up, who unsurprisingly was the top scorer of the match with 21 points. Nantes suffered another loss on the home court, remaining third in Pool B and are down to face Calcit Volley KAMNIK on their last day of the competition.
