Luxembourg, January 16, 2020. The calculations in volleyball are most difficult to be made, different parameters are involved, but the winning option for the Macedonian volleyball players today against Turkey seems to be simple in mathematics terms. With a triumph of 3:0 for sure, and with 3:1 most probably, for the second time in history, TEAM MKD will be in the company of the best in Europe. The task is not easy, Turkey was dominant in the qualifying tournament in Skopje for participation in the CEV EuroVolley 2021, recorded victory in the first duel on Wednesday with 3:1, but the second set of that match created optimism that the red and yellows today can hope for a result to achieve the final goal, or they will be significantly closer to it. 

A 3:0 victory will mean first place for the Macedonian volleyball players in Pool C due to a better set-ratio from Turkey. Only one set is enough for the team of the coach Nedim Ozbey to keep the top place and secure a direct placement at the continental summit. If they fail to be dominant, an acceptable epilogue for the Macedonian players will be a triumph with 3:1 for winning second place in the group, but with great chances to secure the placement of CEV EuroVolley 2021 tonight. In this case, Team MKD will most likely have a better effect than Spain, which was second in Pool D, and will certainly be ahead of second placed team from Pool B in Israel. With a 3:2 victory, TEAM MKD will also have a wide open door to CEV EuroVolley 2021, but will have to wait for the epilogue of the remaining four qualifying groups scheduled for May. That will be the same in case of defeat. 

Hence, although Turkey is the favourite and is one set away from their11th appearance at the continental championships, the Macedonian volleyball players believe that they can repeat the game from second set of the match on Wednesday and spread it during today's entire match at the "Boris Trajkovski" arena. It will be the 152nd official match in history counting the European Championships, the CEV European League, as well as the qualifications for the European Championships, the World Championship and the Olympic Games. If achieved, the 70th victory will bring new unforgettable moments for Macedonian volleyball.
