Luxembourg, November 6, 2019. The clash between the champions of Romania and Serbia has gone the way of C.S. Municipal Arcada GALATI. In the first appearance in the CEV Champions League Volley 2020 - Men season for both sides, the Romanians beat Vojvodina NS Seme NOVI SAD 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-21). In front of 1,700 fans GALATI made sure that they would have the best opportunity of qualifying for Round 3 when the return will be played in a week's time.

- 1,700 people came out to the Sports Hall in Galati for the #CLVolleyM Match of the Week, which was also the first-ever Champions League match for the home team.
- The Serbian side managed to come back from trailing by four points on two occasions during the first set, but in the end had to leave the set to GALATI with 25-22.
- In the remaining sets the blocking and attacking power of the Romanian champions was too high, and they cruised to a straight-set victory.
- Dutchman Niels Klapwijk was the top scoring player on the side of GALATI. He scored 20 times and was subsequently chosen as MVP.
- For Vojvodina NS Seme NOVI SAD Aleksandar Blagojevic was most productive, scoring 17 points.
