SLIEDRECHT ease past UVC Holding GRAZ to secure ticket to #CLVolleyW 2nd Round
2019 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Women
Sliedrecht, Netherlands, October 17, 2018. The reigning Dutch national champions, SLIEDRECHT Sport, did not have any problems to claim also the repeat of their 1st Round fixture with Austria’s UVC Holding GRAZ (3-0; 25-12, 25-9, 25-14) to continue their journey in the 2019 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Women and play Germany’s Allianz MTV STUTTGART in the next stage of Europe’s elite club competition.
• SLIEDRECHT Sport did not drop a single set in their two matches with UVC Holding GRAZ, who were making their first ever appearance in the CEV Volleyball Champions League.
• The Dutch side celebrated their second #CLVolleyW home victory – after last year’s fixture with Belgium’s Asterix Avo BEVEREN.
• Last year, SLIEDRECHT Sport lost in the 3rd Round to eventual bronze medal winners Imoco Volley CONEGLIANO of Italy.
Carlijn Ghijssen-Jans, team captain of SLIEDRECHT Sport: “As easy as it may look, we were destined to win here and we succeeded in doing so. Now we want to take on Allianz MTV STUTTGART in the next round.”
