Graz, Austria, October 10, 2018. UVC Holding GRAZ of Austria will be making tonight their historic debut in the CEV Volleyball Champions League – Women when hosting the reigning national champions of the Netherlands, SLIEDRECHT Sport. Despite their shaky start to the Austrian national league, UVC Holding GRAZ are hoping for a good result from this history-making match.
“We are hoping to welcome many fans to our new Sportpark,” said UVC Holding GRAZ team captain Eva Dumphart. “Maybe we will be able to surprise them with a good result from the match with the favourite team from the Netherlands.”
Frederick Laure, UVC Holding GRAZ Manager and a former player with the Austrian national team, agrees: “It will definitely not be an easy match against SLIEDRECHT but if the team find their rhythm, it will be able to surprise us with a win.”
The team captain of SLIEDRECHT Sport, Carlijn Ghijssen-Jans expects a great time: “Cool to be playing in the brand new Raiffeisen Sportpark Graz. I am looking forward to an exciting match!”
UVC do not have anything to lose and can play in a completely carefree and relaxed manner. Let’s see how the story ends!
