CEV Champions League Volley 2019 Super Finals
Luxembourg, April 22, 2019. Osmany Juantorena will be chasing at the #SuperFinalsBerlin the third Champions League title of an already terrific and incredibly successful career. The outside hitter of Cucine Lube CIVITANOVA was a member of TRENTINO Volley’s almost invincible team until 2013, seizing the most coveted crown in European Volleyball in 2010 and 2011. However, gold has eluded the Cuban-born player ever since, with Juantorena having to be content with silver in 2014 and 2018 when wearing the shirt of Halkbank ANKARA and Cucine Lube, respectively.
Juantorena and Lube will be hoping to cap an already fabulous season – they are yet to experience any loss in the #CLVolleyM – on May 18 in Berlin in a repeat of last year’s gold medal match with Zenit KAZAN. The outside hitter already has an impressive collection of 7 Champions League medals to his name, with bronze from the 2012, 2016 and 2017 editions to go with the above-mentioned gold and silver accolades.
Osmany will be hoping to help Lube claim their first #CLVolleyM title since topping the podium back in 2002 and to make amends for the dramatic loss they suffered in last year’s gold medal match with Zenit KAZAN. Juantorena has scored as many as 120 points in the competition this far, including 24 in the two semi-final matches with PGE Skra BELCHATOW, where Lube were the absolutely dominant force to comfortably secure their spot in the historic ‘grand finale’ in Berlin.
