Bucharest, Romania, May 4, 2018. The Final Four of the 2018 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Women to be held this weekend in Bucharest is accompanied by exciting side events, which further increase the appeal of what is already a much anticipated high-level tournament, which will crown the best club team on the continent.
Some of Friday’s activities were more than just “off-court”. As part of CEV’s Green Way campaign, in the park in front of the competition venue, Sala Polivalenta, some of the big Volleyball stars representing the participating teams helped plant trees, reinforcing the message of sustainability and corporate social responsibility - to protect our planet Earth.
All the players gave their best with the shovels, just like they do with the ball on the court. Some, like VakifBank ISTANBUL’s middle blocker Milena Rasic, admitted that they had never done this before. Others happened to be more experienced.
“I know how to do this. I have done it many times before where I come from,” said Galatasaray SK ISTANBUL’s Bulgarian outside hitter Dobriana Rabadzhieva. “I hope my tree survives and I can come back here 10 years from now and see how it has grown.”
The organisers of #CLF4Bucharest are also keen on offering the fans the best possible Volleyball experience, both inside and outside the playing hall. A fan zone is being set up in front of the Sala Polivalenta, where the fans of all teams can interact, have fun, grab some snacks and drinks, and even test their own Volleyball skills.
The fan zone will be operating throughout the Final Four weekend and will culminate with the live stage performance of one of Romania's most popular bands, Holograf.
