Italian ‘Panthers’ and Romanian champions chase fourth straight victory in #CLVolleyW
2018 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Women

Luxembourg, February 7, 2018. Imoco Volley CONEGLIANO and CSM Volei Alba BLAJ will be chasing their fourth win in as many matches once they take to the court on Wednesday in an effort to cement their leadership in Pool B and A of the 2018 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Women. The Italian ‘Panthers’ will try to repeat their sensational away victory over Fenerbahce SK ISTANBUL from two weeks ago, while the Romanian champions hope to add another milestone to their so far impeccable campaign in the competition. Another two matches will take place in Rzeszow and Prostejov where the respective hosts will be trying to use the home-court advantage to remain in contention for a spot in the Playoffs.

CSM Volei Alba BLAJ (ROU) vs. ASPTT MULHOUSE (FRA)


•    CSM Volei Alba BLAJ have claimed three wins in as many matches they have contested in Pool A this far.
•    Two weeks ago, BLAJ recorded a 3-1 away victory in France.
•    The local organisers expect some 2,000 fans to attend the home match with ASPTT MULHOUSE.



Mariana Thomaz de Aquino, player of CSM Volei Alba BLAJ: “I think the game against MULHOUSE will be a tough one for us, because we have been having challenging matches in all competitions lately, but we hope that we will win again against MULHOUSE. I hope the hall will be again full, like it was in first home game against Volero, and with the help of our fans we can claim yet another victory.”

Magali Magail, coach of ASPTT MULHOUSE: “We are again facing a difficult game against this strong team, which has been invincible so far in our pool. However, we have nothing to lose and we are prepared to fight and will try to destabilise their offensive game.”

Developres SkyRes RZESZOW (POL) vs. Volero ZÜRICH (SUI)


•    After a short break, Developres SkyRes return to contest the CEV Volleyball Champions League hosting Volero ZÜRICH at Podpromie Sports Hall.
•    It is the first season for Developres SkyRes in the CEV Champions League.
•    Hélène Rousseaux from Developres SkyRes currently leads the way as the best spiker in the Polish national league.
•    Adela Helić from Developres SkyRes is the second best opposite hitter of the Polish national league.
•    Two weeks ago, Volero beat Developres SkyRes 3-0.
•    Volero are 12-time Swiss national champions.
•    Volero are the bronze medal winners from the 2015 and 2017 FIVB Women’s Club Volleyball World Championship.
•    The tallest player of Volero is Russian middle blocker Angelina Lazarenko (193 cm).



Jelena Blagojević, team captain of Developres SkyRes: “There is no denying that we take all the matches in the Champions League really seriously. This competition is very important for us, and we have shown that we deserve to play Champions League and we will fight until the end.”
