#CLVolleyW resumes with two fixtures in Serbia and Poland
2018 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Women
Luxembourg, February 6, 2018. The pool stage of the 2018 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Women continues this week with the fourth round of matches. Vizura RUMA and Grot Budowlani LODZ are hosting Tuesday’s fixtures and they will try to make amends for the away losses that they suffered two weeks ago at the hands of Dinamo KAZAN and Galatasaray SK ISTANBUL, respectively. Dinamo KAZAN will be chasing their fourth straight win in Pool C, as Galatasaray will be hoping for their third victory in an extremely competitive Pool D – which features titleholders VakifBank and Russia’s Dinamo MOSCOW as well.
Vizura RUMA (SRB) vs. Dinamo KAZAN (RUS)
• Two weeks ago, Dinamo KAZAN stormed to a comprehensive 3-0 home victory in their first matchup with Vizura.
• Dinamo KAZAN, the 2014 Champions League gold medal winners, have a perfect record of three wins in as many matches they have contested in Pool C this far.
• Vizura RUMA will be chasing their second victory in Pool C after they previously beat Maritza PLOVDIV in Bulgaria.
• Last season, Dinamo KAZAN and Vizura locked horns in the quarterfinals of the CEV Cup as well, with Dinamo claiming both matches in straight sets.
Grot Budowlani LODZ (POL) vs. Galatasaray SK ISTANBUL (TUR)
• This is the second matchup in Pool D featuring these two teams.
• Two weeks ago, Galatasaray SK ISTANBUL recorded a 3-0 victory (25-16, 25-21, 25-17) at home.
• Dobriana Rabadzhieva and Kaja Grobelna top scored in that match for Galatasaray and Grot Budowlani with 15 and 11 points, respectively.
• The game will take place at the iconic Atlas Arena in Lodz, starting at 6 pm.
• Galatasaray and Grot Budowlani share the same position in their respective national leagues, as they both sit in fourth place.
Julia Twardowska, outside hitter of Budowlani: “The ambiance is positive. We want to show good Volleyball. We will definitely fight in this match. VakifBank and Galatasaray have a similar style of play. Playing with VakifBank, we managed to win one set. Now we want to repeat the same feat. Pool D is some kind of ‘group of death’. There are three very strong and titled teams competing in this pool. They are some of the best teams in the world. It is hard to play with them but this experience is very important to us.”
