Grot Budowlani LODZ to host Russian giant in their #CLVolleyW season opener
2018 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Women
Lodz, Poland, December 20, 2017. On Thursday night, the players of Grot Budowlani LODZ will play their first game in Pool D of the 2018 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Women. Their opponent will be one of the most successful teams in women’s Volleyball, i.e. Russia’s Dinamo MOSCOW.
This is the second appearance of Budowlani LODZ in the CEV Volleyball Champions League – Women. The Polish club made their debut in the 2010/2011 season but failed to progress to the Playoffs.
Now, in comparison with that team, the players of Budowlani LODZ are definitely stronger. Currently, there are six national team members playing for LODZ – four for the Polish national team, one for the Czech Republic and one for Belgium.
The leader and star player of the team is Kaja Grobelna. In the previous season in the Polish League, she received twelve prizes for the MVP of a single match.
“We have a very strong group. We will play with the best teams in Europe. They are the world’s leaders. We can learn a lot from such Volleyball players. It will be a great experience for us and to grow for the future,” Grobelna said.
On Thursday evening, on the opposite sides of the net, will stand the second women’s Volleyball team in Poland and the best team in Russia.
