Watch out for CL ‘derby’ featuring teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia
2018 CEV Volleyball Champions League - Women

Brčko, Bosnia and Herzegovina, October 17, 2017. The reigning national champions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, ZOK Bimal-Jedinstvo BRČKO are hosting tonight their Slovenian counterpart Nova KBM Branik MARIBOR in a match on schedule for the second round of the 2018 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Women. The re-match will follow on Saturday in Maribor and determine who progressed to the third round of the competition.



ZOK Bimal-Jedinstvo BRČKO

-    They are the reigning national champions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
-    Since 2007, they have only dropped two domestic titles – and are multiple winners of their national league and national cup as well.
-    Last year they made their historic debut in the CEV Volleyball Champions League – losing to France’s RC CANNES and as a result, they continued their European journey in the CEV Volleyball Cup where they lost to eventual gold medal winners Dinamo KAZAN of Russia.
-    They are the first team from Bosnia and Herzegovina (men or women) to represent their country in the elite CEV Volleyball Champions League.

Nova KBM Branik MARIBOR

-    They are Slovenia’s reigning national league champions and national cup winners.
-    They are 14-time national champions and have another 16 domestic trophies to their name.
-    Last year they made it to the 8th Finals of the CEV Volleyball Cup, losing there to Turkey’s standout team Galatasaray ISTANBUL.
-    They are making their historic debut in the CEV Volleyball Champions League.

Our roster has undergone quite many changes this past summer and we brought in some new players. We are confident that we will achieve a good result and we hope for a good match.”

What’s next?
The eventual winners of this fixture will play Hapoel KFAR SABA of Israel or Poland's Developres SkyRes RZESZOW in the third round. Both these teams are making this year their debut in the CEV Volleyball Champions League.
