TRENTINO and Lube to extend long-lasting rivalry in CL Playoffs 6

Trento, Italy, March 26, 2018. Italy’s TRENTINO Diatec and Cucine Lube CIVITANOVA will be locking horns in an eagerly anticipated ‘derby’ in the Playoffs 6 of the 2018 CEV Volleyball Champions League – Men where a spot will be at stake to play in the Final Four scheduled for May 12-13 in Kazan, Russia. TRENTINO secured their spot in the Playoffs 6 following a 3-0 home victory over CL rookies CHAUMONT VB 52 Haute Marne, while Cucine Lube CIVITANOVA achieved the same result in their home fixture with Poland’s PGE Skra BELCHATOW.
As a result, Italy will certainly have at least one team in the Final Four of Europe’s elite club competition with Sir Colussi Sicoma PERUGIA hoping to make it to Kazan as well as they take on Russia’s Lokomotiv NOVOSIBIRSK in another Playoff 6 fixture. TRENTINO and Lube will be crossing their ways in the CEV Champions League after they did so in the 2009 and 2016 semis as well as in the Playoffs 6 back in 2012. Cucine Lube CIVITANOVA will host the first match between April 3 and 5 before TRENTINO welcome their domestic rivals one week later.
